When challenged with an original budget less than needed to furnish the prestigious Le Meridien M Resort Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, Fortune International utilized The Parker Company´s expertise, experience and buying power to bring in the project, on time and under budget.

TPC assigned veteran Senior Project Director Ruth Arsenijevic to the project. Ruth and her team used TPC´s proven project methodology and first met with the client to identify the key savings areas in the large quantity or high ticket items. Ruth then met with the design team to discuss ways to value engineer items to meet the design and budget parameters. "This is the tricky part, where you have to find design-approved quality products at a lower price," says Ruth who worked closely with the owner, operator and designer to accomplish the task. " After years of weeding out the best suppliers at all price points we found qualified sources who could meet the design and operational requirements while at the same time provide extremely competitive pricing." TPC took advantage of the model room review process, produced multiple samples for review and had the owner and designer approve the right products at the best price.

Adding to the challenge was the overnight theft of the LCD TVs for the project which were stored in the hotel while being staged for installation. Fortunately for the customer, TPC´s OS&E division used its influence to arrange for immediate replacement of the TVs so as not to delay the installation schedule. "Today´s TVs are quite a bit more complicated in that they require wall mounts, cable and satellite hookups, and tuning and testing of the systems with multiple trades having to coordinate with the furniture installers to ensure a timely installation," stated Ruth. "If the client had to wait even a few weeks, the opening date may have been jeopardized."
